Canada’s new “hate crimes" law sinks its teeth into Catholic man

Romans 12:9 says, “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” Not so in Canada where their new "hate crimes law" claimed its latest victim.

The same wolf is at our own door here in the U.S. As reported by the Family Research Council this week:

"The pattern is clear: a "hate crimes" law will inevitably lead the government to police our thoughts, and, eventually, our personal opinions and beliefs. Although proponents of the bill claim that the legislation would further tolerance and help end discrimination, the only effect it will truly have is to gag people of faith and conviction who disagree with the homosexual agenda."

Political experts expect the Democrat-led Congress will be successful this year at passing this bill – currently in the form of H.R. 254. The only thing stopping it from becoming the law of the land appears to be a veto from President Bush. As to how he would respond if such a bill would reach his desk, no indication has been given.

I echo the words of the Prophet Isaiah who cried, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil." (Isaiah 5:20 NIV)

Call or email the White House and urge the President to veto this legislation when it reaches his desk.
