Democrats’ promises immediately shown to be empty

The liberal evangelical political crusader, Jim Wallis – the man commissioned by the Democrats to further subtly sway American evangelicals towards buying into a more radical, liberal social agenda – was recently asked by the Democrat leadership in Washington to give the weekly radio address for the party of the donkey. Regarding abortion, he said, “wouldn’t coming together to find common ground that dramatically reduces the number of abortions be better than both the left and the right using it as an issue to divide us?” What rhetorical hogwash! You can look at one of the latest pieces of legislation that the House just voted on to see how these comments are disingenuous. The bill I’m talking about was called the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act of 2006. As reported by Citizenlink, “the bill would have required abortionists to inform women that after 20 weeks their babies would be able to feel the pain caused by an abortion.” Yet the vote on this legislation – which clearly would achieve just what Wallis says is his party’s goal – clearly shows the Democrats at large are lying about their so-called commitment at reducing abortions. Don’t fall for the lies. Actions speak louder than words. Let’s pray that those Democrats who will soon take office in January and who call themselves pro-life will move their party beyond mere empty political rhetoric.
