Making divorce easier (& marriage harder)

Government’s number one role is to insure the future well being of the next generation. And one of the best ways to do that is to insure the well being of the family unit. And one of – if not – the most significant ways to insure the integrity of the family is to do everything possible to protect the integrity of the relationship of parents. Unfortunately, government has increasing forgotten their role and responsibility. In fact, confusion may be a better descriptor. Instead of enacting policies and procedures that promote the well being of marriage, they are making it easier for couples to divorce. No-fault divorce laws that were first instituted in the late 1960s have now “progressed” to the point where couples can conveniently fill out divorce papers online from the comfort of their home computers. (See sun-sentinel.com article entitled, “Broward residents can now go online to file for divorce, small claims”.) I see the government bulletin announcement now: “Break Up Your Home From the Comfort Of Your Own Home.”
