Stay At Home Election Day, And It Will Only Get Worse

Here are some good reasons why you should be angry about how the Republicans governed over the past few years, and why you should be afraid if the Democrats gain control.

If you want to punish those Republicans who are leading, now is not the time to do it. As Dennis Prager writes (and as I’ve been saying for years), “If you don't like the Republican candidate, the place to get rid of him is in the primary, not the general election. The general election is not between good Republicans and irresponsible Republicans; it's between Republicans and Democrats.” And one thing is clear: punishing Republicans for weak leadership by holding back your vote this November will allow the Democrats to seize control. And a Democratic majority will hurt us more than a Republican majority.

Prager concludes by saying:

Vote out of anger, and you'll either vote Democrat or stay home. Vote out of reason, and you'll vote Republican. Please choose reason.

Media spin aimed at discouraging conservative voter turnout

The Family Research Council writes the following:

Story after story on the elections seem to repeat the same spin--that conservatives are too turned off to turn out the vote. With headlines like "Conservative Voters Likely to Stay Home," many of the press seem to be hoping for a self-fulfilling prophecy. But the truth is, these articles aren't intended to get the facts straight or to talk about the broader cultural issues of moral decline that have given rise to the recent scandals. They're meant to discourage voter turnout--plain and simple. Members of the liberal media understand that values voters were the single largest factor in 2004, and a repeat performance would spell disaster for plans of a liberal takeover of Congress. There's no question the enthusiasm level is far below what it was in 2004. However, where marriage amendments are on the ballot and in the districts and states where candidates take clear and convincing positions on the key social issues, they will find "value voter" support at the polls. If you are tempted to sit this election out, I encourage you not to: vote your values. Sitting out this election doesn't punish conservatives or liberals so much as it slaps in the face every soldier fighting for this same freedom abroad. They've offered their lives--not to protect our apathy, but to protect what America stands for: that government of the people, by the people, and for the people should not perish from this earth.

Charles Spurgeon sermon: The Prayer of Jabez

Spurgeon writes, “Whatsoever leads thee to God is in like manner a blessing indeed. Riches may not do it. There may be a golden wall between thee and God. Health will not do it: even the strength and marrow of thy bones may keep thee at a distance from thy God. But anything that draws thee nearer to him is a blessing indeed…And anything which helps me to glorify God is a blessing indeed. If I be sick, and that helps me to praise him, it is a blessing indeed. If I be poor, and I can serve him better in poverty than in wealth, it is a blessing indeed. If I be in contempt, I will rejoice in that day and leap for joy, if it be for Christ’s sake — it is a blessing indeed.”

Some Gays Are Finally Coming Out

Some in the homosexual community are finally “coming out.” But it’s not in the way you might think. What they are coming out of, is not the closet, but denial. Americans have been largely convinced by the MSM (mainstream media) that AIDS is not a gay disease. This propaganda has served only to enable the homosexual community in their self-delusion. After living more than 25 years in denial about AIDS, some homosexuals in the LA area, have began looking at the cold, hard facts, and are finally taking personal responsibility by taking ownership for the spread of HIV in their community. I commend these homosexuals for recognizing the real problem. I also hope, as a result of continued steps towards changing their behavior, the HIV-related death rate within their ranks – within their centers of influence – drops.

Partisan Politics Clearly Seen Regarding Life Issue

One party says they are committed to “reducing the number of abortions,” whereas the other major party practices more of what they preach. So, which political party is solidly behind abortion-on-demand? And which party is solidly in defense of the defenseless? See for yourself by looking at the vote recorded last week in the Senate regarding the only pro-life measure seriously considered by Congress this term. One party clearly represents the Yeas while the other party clearly represents the Nays. Don’t believe the political rhetoric. Let the facts speak for themselves.
